550° anniversary of the first book print in Italy
Within the sphere of events and celebrations, planned for the project “Subiaco 2015”, strongly exhorted by the Municipality of the city itself and the Territorial Abbey of Subiaco celebrating the 550° anniversary of the first printed book in Italy, on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd October in the ‘Abbazia di Santa Scolastica’, an international congress of studies will be held dedicated to the printing-history and typographic activities of the same city between the XV and XVI century, to which the foundation ‘Fondazione Gianfranco Fedrigoni, Istituto Europeo di Storia della Carta e delle Scienze cartarie (ISTOCARTA’) is directly committed to;amongst the guest-speakers, there will be Augusto Ciuffetti, research-associate at the ‘Università Politecnica delle Marche’, and also honorary member of the foundation itself.
