Fabriano Watercolour 2016

On occasion of the seventh edition of “Fabriano InAcquarello” –the international congress devoted to water-colour painting technique on paper,  held from 22-24 April 2016 –  the historical building complex of the Miliani Paper-mill,  owned by the Veronese group Fedrigoni S.p.A., hosted water-colour artists from 40 countries all over the world, in one of the numerous appointments on the agenda.

The cultural association ‘InArte’ – founder of the congress – has been cooperating with  the paper mill FABRIANO and  the Fondazione Gianfranco Fedrigoni Istituto Europeo di Storia della Carta e delle Scienze Cartarie (ISTOCARTA) foundation, of which it is associate member, for various years.

Appreciating the cultural value of the congress, FABRIANO, together with the  Fondazione G. Fedrigoni ISTOCARTA foundation , hosted numerous water-colour artists on 22nd April 2016 in the evocative "natural park" that surrounds the historical stately building complex of the paper- mill Cartiere Miliani (presently main-office building of Fedrigoni SpA). Guests were able to participate in the workshop/meeting with master paper-makers from Fabriano (handmade paper and commercial paper FABRIANO) and attend the Demo/meeting with the manufactures by Pennelli Escoda( Escoda Paint Brushes) , Daniel Smith’s  colours,  as well as with Artemiranda and Winsor&Newton.

The G. Fedrigoni ISTOCARTA foundation , who sponsored the congress, opened the doors of the ‘Archivio d'Impresa delle Cartiere Miliani’  (Cartiere Miliani’s Corporate Archive) to artists and projected one of the historical videos preserved by  ‘Fondo Fototeca-Videoteca ‘ dating back to 1871, “Questi poveri stracci” [‘These poor rags’] (1951), which recently has been released in digital version and which was highly appreciated by all the visitors .
